Produced by Japan's PLEX Company and released by X-PLUS Company, the soft vinyl figure series themed around Japanese tokusatsu heroes and monsters, 'Great Monster Series,' has announced its latest product, 'Grand King Fierce Battle Color Ver.,' from the 1984 film Ultraman Story, scheduled for release in May 2025. This product will be exclusively sold through official designated channels such as 'Shonen RIC' and 'TSUBURAYA STORE.'
Grand King is a super combined monster created by Space Emperor Juda to exact revenge on the Land of Light, combining his own immense energy with the grudges of monsters drifting through space. Its entire body is stitched together with characteristic features from various monsters such as Gomora, Twin Tail, Sadlar, Ace Killer, and more, and it is covered in highly defensive heavy armor. Its powerful armaments across its body are capable of knocking Ultraman down. In the series, even when attacked by the Ultraman Five Brothers, it remained almost completely unharmed. It was only after the elder brothers merged their powers into Taro, becoming "Super Taro," that it was finally defeated by the "Cosmic Miracle Ray," which had its power increased severalfold.
'Grand King Fierce Battle Color Ver.' is a modified version based on the initial release from 2014, boasting an impressive length of approximately 43 cm. Its superb sculpting captures the heavy metallic armor across its entire body. The metallic paint application has been adjusted from the original's reddish-bronze to a more reddish, rusty tone, depicting a scene where it remains unyielding even after being struck by the Ultraman Brothers' finishing beam attacks.
This product also features a built-in LED light-up mechanism, now improved with USB Type-C power supply. Once connected to power, its head, shoulders, and central body parts will emit various colored lights!
