Toy fans, do you still remember LEGO's set number 21333, "Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night," released in June 2022? This time, the Danish LEGO toy company is set to launch set number 31215, "Vincent van Gogh – Sunflowers," under its LEGO ART series! It is expected to be released on March 1, 2025, with a suggested retail price of US$199.99.
Van Gogh's "Sunflowers" is a series of still-life oil paintings created in 1888 and 1889. This LEGO "Sunflowers" artwork, a collaboration between LEGO and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is based on the version painted by Van Gogh in Arles, Provence, Southern France, in January 1889. It recreates Van Gogh's chiaroscuro technique using three different shades of yellow bricks. This artwork not only features 16 sunflowers with adjustable petals but also includes an awesome "Van Gogh signature" flat tile! After completion, whether simply displayed on a shelf or mounted on a wall, it is sure to become an eye-catching and passionately vibrant masterpiece.
▼ The interpretive approach of stacking LEGO bricks allows toy fans to experience a three-dimensional layering not present in the original painting, potentially further expanding the possibilities of light and shadow variations during display.
▼ This set contains a total of 2615 pieces. The dimensions are 54 × 41 × 5 cm. When photographed with a person, one can instantly feel the immense presence of the LEGO "Sunflowers" artwork.
▼ Let's watch the promotional video produced by LEGO! Watching the paint from the flat artwork gradually emerge and transform into LEGO brick studs is truly therapeutic.
