After releasing several products based on the American comic "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin," American toy brand NECA recently unveiled another new item based on the series' sequel, "The Last Ronin - The Lost Years"—the "Nightwatcher Casey Jones" 7-inch action figure. This comes in addition to the "Nightwatcher Donatello / Nightwatcher Leonardo / Nightwatcher Michelangelo." The suggested retail price is $34.96 USD, with an anticipated release in Spring 2025!
"The Last Ronin - The Lost Years" is a sequel released by IDW, continuing the world of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin." It intertwines the story of the Last Ronin's wanderings and his entanglement with the organization "Death Worm," which plagued him, with the tale of April and her daughter Casey training a new generation of Ninja Turtles after the Last Ronin's death.
This Nightwatcher Casey Jones figure also draws inspiration from the beginning of the third comic issue, specifically April's flashback where, after Raphael's fall, she was nearly harmed by The Purple Dragons, and several figures appeared to rescue her. The limbs reuse parts from the previous "The Last Ronin Casey Jones" figure, while the main body is newly sculpted, featuring a relatively lightweight X-shaped harness. The paint application continues the series' characteristic comic-book style with black outlines and uses the iconic red and black color scheme to faithfully recreate his new look from the comic. Accessories include a unique cloak and hood. The mask design differs slightly from the version seen at his final demise, and the unmasked head sculpt is now directly connected to the mask. While some weapons are reused, the hockey stick and stick bag are no longer included. This hooded appearance is truly awesome!
For the outer box, Ben Bishop, the comic artist for "The Last Ronin" series, was once again invited to personally draw the illustration. The packaging features a collector-friendly window box design. While not yet confirmed, it is believed that the side illustrations will, like previous releases, be designed to connect with other packaging boxes in the same series, which is highly anticipated!
