French modeling brand Cartoon Kingdom, established in 2021, yesterday (5th) announced its latest product from Japanese manga artist Tohru Fujisawa's "Great Teacher Onizuka" (GTO): the "GTO Great Teacher Onizuka" 1/6 scale diorama statue! It is expected to ship in Q4 2025, with a suggested retail price of 579.99 Euros, and is limited to 150 units worldwide.
Eikichi Onizuka, 22 years old, was once a member of the Shonan Devil Biker Gang and one half of the "Onibaku Combi." Later, he and his good brother Ryuji decided to venture to Tokyo to become great men. However, after witnessing the shocking truth of a "pretty high school girl hooking up with a creepy old teacher," he decided to become a great teacher himself. After undergoing teaching practice (and a series of twists and turns), he finally began his teaching career at Seirin Academy (Kichijoji Academy). Tohru Fujisawa's exaggerated storytelling not only portrays Onizuka as being as strong as a cyborg but also recounts legendary feats such as trading AIR MAX sneakers for a BMW and speeding at 150 km/h on a road with a 40 km/h limit.
This statue features Eikichi Onizuka alongside the genius beautiful girl Urumi Kanzaki, who possesses heterochromatic eyes and an IQ of 200. Onizuka is depicted in a white suit and white leather shoes, with his classic nonchalant look, ready to light a cigarette. Kanzaki, dressed in her high school uniform, is shown in a sitting pose with her hands supporting her from behind. The diorama incorporates many GTO elements, including classroom desks and chairs, Onizuka's favorite underwear and erotic merchandise, and that super classic "Onizuka & Dean of Students" perverted composite photo!
▼ The classroom blackboard in the diorama is crafted from real blackboard material, allowing collectors to write their own content using the chalk included with the product.
▼ While the entire statue is impressive, the editor notes some issues with the head sculpts and eyes of the two protagonists.
