The character model kit series "PLAMATEA", jointly developed by Japanese model manufacturers Good Smile Company and Max Factory, announced the latest product, "Thanatos", from the popular video game "Persona 3 Reload", slated for release in September 2025.
Thanatos is the Persona exclusive to the protagonist of "Persona 3", corresponding to the protagonist's Arcana, "Death", and the game's theme, "Death". Its initial appearance, bursting forth from the protagonist's starting Persona, "Orpheus", was incredibly cool and dramatic. Its design features a skull-like head, a military uniform, and a long sword. Several coffins are linked by chains around its body, showcasing its calamitous form. It can utilize powerful skills such as Mahamaon (light-attribute instant death to all foes), Brave Blade (high-power single-target slash), and more.
The "PLAMATEA Thanatos" kit is comprised of multi-colored molded parts, some pre-painted parts, and metal components. Once assembled, it stands approximately 16 cm tall and features articulated joints. Both the coffins and the chains on its shoulders are made from metal parts. In addition to being able to wield its military saber with dedicated hand parts, the 8 coffins surrounding its body are connected by clear articulated supports, allowing them to move in conjunction with the main body's pose. This enables the recreation of the powerful pose where all coffins are deployed forward.
