Diaclone (ダイアクロン)
This is a toy series launched by Japan's TAKARA TOMY in the 1980s. The name "Diaclone" combines "Dia" (the Japanese pronunciation of "diamond") and "cyclone," representing unbreakable friendship and powerful partners, respectively. It profoundly influenced the design concepts of the later Transformers toys and can be considered their direct predecessor. After 1987, due to the immense popularity of Transformers toys and their high degree of similarity, Diaclone was gradually replaced and disappeared. It wasn't until 2015 that TAKARA announced the revival of the Diaclone series, repositioning it as a high-priced, exquisitely crafted collectible line for adults.
To counter the complex and diverse attack patterns of the invading alien Waruder forces, Diaclone units around the world can detach from the main combat force to form specialized tactical units for various large-scale operations.
As their primary machine, the culmination of Diaclone technology was gathered to develop the most advanced fighter capable of confronting the current Waruder threat. This led to the birth of the Tactical Mover.

Furthermore, just like the PS machines and the medium-sized Triverse machines, it can also combine with dedicated external units specializing in functions like flight, ground combat, and gunnery. Combining with these units makes its combat capabilities even more formidable.
HORUS VERSAULTER F Thrust Unit> Night Tiger
The Night Tiger is an ultra-advanced strategic fighter capable of stratospheric flight. Its airframe is constructed from a heat-resistant laminated alloy with excellent thermal resistance and cooling functions. The F Thrust Unit engine employs an FZ dual-purpose engine that can operate both within and outside the atmosphere, achieving a flight speed of Mach 1.5. It dives at super-high speeds from outside the atmosphere to attack and destroy enemy aircraft in the air and on the ground. It is primarily deployed as an escort fighter for the aerial mobile fortress "Cloud Across," performing combat air patrols. Its official designation is
Diaclone is truly a treasured part of my childhood. I fondly remember how much I loved the HK$3.3 Type A, Type B, and Type C models back in the day. Now, twenty-six years later, it has undergone an extreme evolution! It features high articulation and can transform into vehicle, storage, bipedal walker, and combat modes. Its playability, when combined with other toys from the same series, can only be described as "limitless transformations." Although I've lost count of how many versions of the TM have been released, for some reason I found myself cursing while already reaching for my wallet...
The value for money is average, the joints are slightly loose, and the appearance isn't too "plasticky." I wonder if any collectors will give these a custom repaint. However, its playability is arguably one of the highest in history! When combined with other products or vehicles from the series, it not only looks "cool," but its play value and interconnectivity are also significantly enhanced. Diaclone, what a terrifyingly addictive series!
Unfortunately, just like over twenty years ago, there are no accompanying anime or other media products for promotion or support... However, the recently released CV (Cloud Across) promotional videos were highly impressive.
