The previous public test of Monster Hunter Wilds surely left everyone wanting more.
Before the official release, let's satisfy our craving with a monster unboxing.
Bandai's S.H.Figuarts (S.H.F) action figures are undoubtedly familiar to everyone.
S.H.MonsterArts is similar to S.H.F, but all its products are monsters.
This includes the famous Godzilla series and monsters from Monster Hunter.
This unboxing features the "Furious Rajang," released on January 25, 2025.
The Fanged Beast Rajang is not a lion.
Strictly speaking, it should be a giant gorilla with bull horns.
Normally, its body is covered in long black fur.
Once enraged and agitated, its fur turns golden and stands on end like a Super Saiyan (Ki Hardening), which is where the name "Rajang" comes from.
When in its Super Saiyan state, the Rajang not only gains increased strength and agility,
but can also fire a beam from its mouth, just like a Kamehameha.
Hunters' strategy is to continuously attack its weak point, the tail,
until the Rajang exhausts its energy and reverts to its original form.
However, there are a very few individuals in the wild that constantly maintain their Ki Hardening state.
These hyperactive creatures with no weak points are the Furious Rajang.
【Outer Box Appearance】
The cover features a real photo, with "20th Anniversary" marked in the upper left corner.
The back of the box has claw-mark cutouts, allowing a glimpse of the contents.
The claw-mark cutouts extend to the top of the box. By the way, these claw marks look more like a Rathalos's claws.
The other side of the box features a meme of Rajang giving a thumbs-up.
【Contents Overview】
First, there's a double-sided simple assembly instruction manual.
The Rajang body itself is well-protected and packaged.
There are three interchangeable head sculpts with different expressions: open-mouthed glare, closed-eye sleeping, and normal open-eyed.
The open-mouthed glare sculpt has excellent paint details and is the most vivid.
It comes with 4 types of interchangeable hands: open palm, half-clenched, fisted, and thumbs-up.
Three types of stands are provided for different poses,
but the round base is a bit unstable; using an S.H.F dedicated base would be better.
【Posing and Articulation】
The upright Rajang is much taller than a typical S.H.F figure (and also much more expensive).
Honestly, the normal open-eyed expression looks a bit goofy.
Using the normal open-eyed head sculpt and half-clenched hands, it can strike a quadrupedal pose.
Here you can see the articulation points and muscle texture details.
When posed in a hunched-back posture, some gaps may be visible at the joints.
The golden fur on its head conceals movable ball joints.
Each piece of golden fur can be slightly adjusted.
Attack poses can be achieved using stands of varying heights.
An upright pose combined with a skyward roar.
It would be even cooler with Super Saiyan aura effect parts.
King Kong's chest-beating roar.
Its pectoral muscles must have incredibly high defense to withstand such powerful double-fisted pounding.
Using the sleeping head sculpt, it can be posed in a reclining Buddha posture.
Japan released a Furious Rajang body pillow.

Let's try to imitate it.
【Off-topic Fun】
The Furious Rajang can strike many absurd poses.
Breaking away from traditional play makes it even more fun.
"Hey kid, nice!"
Bodybuilder showing off muscles.
After coming home, a cold beer – awesome!
Rajang as a store clerk: "Our products are delicious!"
Business negotiation turning into an argument: "It's cold!"
