Between 2007 and 2012, Taylor Lautner shot to global fame as Jacob in "The Twilight Saga." Unlike his co-stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, whose careers broadened and popularity soared, Lautner's post-"Twilight" trajectory proved less stable. He largely appeared in supporting roles in comedies and television series, rarely securing lead opportunities, and his acting career quickly quieted. Now, Lautner is poised to leverage his most recognizable screen persona to reignite his career.

Amazon Prime Video and MGM Studios are reportedly developing a new werewolf-themed series starring Lautner, directly titled "Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter." Daisy Gardner, known for her work on comedy series including "Silicon Valley," is set to serve as showrunner. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, the directing duo behind "Scream" (2022) and "Scream VI," are also attached as executive producers.

The series is directly named after Lautner because he will portray himself in the show. According to the official synopsis, after filming the final "Twilight" installment, Lautner stepped away from the limelight. While fans and tabloids offered various theories, the truth, as it turns out, is far stranger than fiction. Lautner wasn't merely resting and recuperating; he was preparing for his true calling: a werewolf hunter. He is unexpectedly enlisted by a clandestine society dedicated to tracking werewolves, who require his unique expertise.
Lautner subsequently leads a double life—a Hollywood actor by day and a warrior against supernatural forces by night. He confronts the ultimate irony: battling the very monsters that initially propelled him to stardom. As he navigates saving the world, revitalizing his career, and falling in love, Lautner faces a pivotal question: What happens when the most iconic character you've ever played becomes your greatest adversary?
