TAKARA TOMY's high-end toy brand T-SPARK, from the Japanese toy company, has announced the latest product in its external collaboration toy series 'SYNERGENEX': the 'Silver Rathalos Optimus Prime', a collaboration between their popular transforming toy 'Transformers' and the co-op hunting game 'Monster Hunter', which celebrates its 20th anniversary. It is scheduled for release in September 2025.
Following the previously released "Rathalos Optimus Prime", this product once again merges the image of the 'Silver Rathalos', a subspecies of the iconic Rathalos monster from the 'Monster Hunter' series, with 'Optimus Prime', the most representative character from the 'Transformers' series. Leveraging TAKARA TOMY's extensive experience in designing transforming toys, it features a complete transformation mechanism, allowing it to transform from 'Silver Rathalos Mode' into 'Optimus Prime Mode', equipped with Silver Rathalos gear.
The 'Silver Rathalos Optimus Prime' largely reuses the sculpt and transformation mechanism of the Rathalos Optimus Prime, but features new molded colors and paint applications to recreate its silvery-white body and unique patterns. In 'Silver Rathalos Mode', multiple points of articulation in the head, wings, and legs allow for dynamic flying and walking poses.
Through its intricate transformation mechanism, it can transform into 'Optimus Prime Mode', clad in Silver Rathalos gear, while also maintaining articulation in all four limbs. The tail part becomes the 'Charge Blade' weapon, capable of transforming from sword mode to axe mode, replicating the combat style from the 'Monster Hunter' game. Furthermore, Optimus Prime's 'Matrix of Leadership' has been reimagined as the 'Collaboration Matrix' (コラボマトリクス) for this release, which can be stored within the Rathalos Optimus Prime's body.
