Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys has announced its latest product based on the sequel to the phenomenal TV series "Squid Game 2" – the "Seong Gi-Hun" 1/6th scale collectible figure. With a suggested retail price of HKD 1,730, it is now available for pre-order on their official website, with an estimated shipping date in Q1-Q2 2026!
The protagonist of "Squid Game," Seong Gi-Hun, was originally a struggling, debt-ridden individual from the lower strata of society, addicted to horse racing. Unable to pay for his mother's medical expenses, he decided to participate in a prize challenge called the Squid Game. The game gathered 456 impoverished players in desperate situations, with the ultimate winner receiving a grand prize of 45.6 billion Korean Won! However, the cost of failure in the challenge was death... The second season's story picks up from the end of the first season, with Gi-Hun determined to find the mastermind behind the game and put an end to this inhumane killing game, only to unexpectedly find himself back in the game.
The world's first officially licensed 1/6th scale collectible figure, "Hot Toys Squid Game Seong Gi-Hun," faithfully recreates protagonist Seong Gi-Hun's iconic "Player 456" look from the series! The figure stands approximately 30 cm tall and features 30 points of articulation throughout its body. The head sculpt realistically captures Gi-Hun's (actor Lee Jung-jae) facial contours, slightly drooping eyelids, skin texture, and short haircut. Equipped with rolling eyeballs, it can convey the sharp and solemn gaze seen in the second season, making the expression even more vivid. Paired with multiple interchangeable hand gestures, it allows for various poses to re-enact scenes from the show!
The costume features a fabric-made green tracksuit worn by the player. The tracksuit jacket comes with "456" number patches on the left chest and back, as well as a red "X" patch on the right chest, signifying not continuing the game. Additionally, it includes the inner "456" white T-shirt and white shoes.
The base is designed in the shape of the impressive pink maze staircase from the series, with a square staff mask attached to the side, allowing for a richer display of the figure. The accessories are comprehensively satisfying for collectors, featuring a 1/6th scale, 20 cm tall blue gift box "XO Voting Box," with LED light effects inside the XO buttons! It also includes the much-discussed "Five-Man Six-Legged Race" game props from the second season, such as Ddakji (tile-flipping), Gonggi (jacks), Marbles, Top, and Jegichagi (shuttlecock kicking), along with black ankle shackle accessories (hinting that other characters might also appear from Hot Toys?). Also specially included is the "Golden Piggy Bank Communicator"!
