Jimmy Warden, the screenwriter behind the hit horror-comedy "Cocaine Bear" two years ago, makes his directorial debut this year with his self-penned and directed feature, "Borderline," for which the first trailer has just been released.
"Borderline" stars Warden's wife, Samara Weaving, in the lead role. The film's thriller genre perfectly aligns with Weaving's established work; she is a frequent presence in such films, having appeared in "Scream VI," "Ready or Not," and "Azrael." Her connection with Warden also stems from the horror-comedy genre, as he had a cameo in the first "The Babysitter" film and penned the sequel, where they first met.

The cast of "Borderline" also includes Eric Dane, Jimmie Fails, Billy Magnussen, Ray Nicholson (son of Jack Nicholson), and Portuguese actress Alba Baptista (wife of Chris Evans), among others. The film is set for a March 14 release in North America, with digital rental and purchase options available the same day.
The official synopsis states: After escaping a mental institution, violent sociopath Paul embarks on a dangerous rampage, targeting world-famous pop singer Sophia. As an obsessive fan, Paul breaks into Sophia's home, abducts her, and fantasizes that they are destined to marry. Paul will stop at nothing to prove his love, but Sophia only wants to survive the night. As Paul becomes increasingly unhinged, his delusions grow more perilous. With the help of her loyal bodyguard, Sophia must fight not only for her life but also for her sanity, as she attempts to escape the clutches of Paul and his growing number of fanatical accomplices.
