Following the release of the "T-800 (Battle Damaged Version 2.0)" and "T-1000 (2.0)," Hong Kong toy company Hot Toys today (18th) announced its latest product from the classic sci-fi film Terminator 2: Judgment Day, the "T-800 (2.0)" 1/6th scale collectible figure! Shipping is expected to begin in Q3-Q4 2025, with a suggested retail price of HKD 1,830.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day continues the plot of the first film. After Skynet failed to assassinate Sarah Connor, it sent the newer and stronger T-1000 to 1995 to kill Sarah Connor's son, John Connor, the future leader of humanity. The human resistance, in turn, sent a T-800 Terminator, identical to the one in the first film but modified, to protect John. Although its overall capabilities are inferior to the liquid metal T-1000, the T-800, with its cool Endoskeleton, is truly classic and beloved by many old-school toy collectors.
The T-800, making a powerful return as a 2.0 version, stands approximately 32 cm tall and features 30 points of articulation. In addition to a newly sculpted head that captures the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger, complete with rolling eyeballs and sunglasses, a removable scalp allows a glimpse into the internal mechanisms and computer chip! The costume is meticulously crafted from real leather, with attention to detail from the tailored fit and stitching to accessories like zippers and belts. Coupled with the mechanical left arm featuring bloodstain paint applications, it fully conveys the visual impact of exposed mechanical bone.
Next, let's look at the T-800 (2.0)'s arsenal, which includes a Vulcan cannon with an ammunition belt, a Winchester M1887 shotgun, a grenade launcher with an openable barrel structure and 12 grenades, an M1911 pistol (with detachable magazine), a black weapon bag, and, to recreate the classic confrontation scene from the film, a rose box used to conceal the shotgun, along with three red roses.
▼ The scene of taking out the weapon from the rose box is just too cool!
