"Captain Marvel" directing duo Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have released a new trailer for their R-rated crime-action film, "Freaky Tales." The movie, which the pair also wrote, marks their first feature film in the six years since their Marvel blockbuster. While "Freaky Tales" premiered at the Sundance Film Festival back in January of last year, Lionsgate has recently slated it for a North American theatrical release on April 4.

"Freaky Tales" boasts a star-studded cast that includes Pedro Pascal, Tom Hanks, Jay Ellis, singer Normani, Ji-young Yoo, Dominique Thorne (Marvel's "Ironheart"), the late Angus Cloud, Jack Champion ("Spider" from the "Avatar" franchise), Keir Gilchrist (reuniting with Boden and Fleck from "It's Kind of a Funny Story"), and Ben Mendelsohn, who previously collaborated with the directors on "Mississippi Grind" and "Captain Marvel."
"Freaky Tales" is structured in four interconnected chapters set in 1987 Oakland, California. The story weaves together the intertwined fates of a diverse group of characters, including NBA stars, corrupt cops, neo-Nazis, and debt collectors.
