The summer of 2008 was a bustling year for cinema, with modern classics like "Iron Man," "The Dark Knight," and "Tropic Thunder" dominating theaters. Among them was the superhero comedy "Hancock," starring Will Smith, which also became a major talking point, grossing over $630 million worldwide. With such impressive box office success, audiences have often wondered: where is the sequel?

In fact, "Hancock 2" has been in intermittent development since 2009. Both lead actress Charlize Theron and director Peter Berg have repeatedly expressed their willingness to return for a sequel, but unfortunately, development has been stalled for many years.
However, there's good news: Smith recently revealed during a live stream on X that they currently have a "super, super cool idea" for a "Hancock" sequel. He added that they haven't publicly discussed it yet, so he was giving a small scoop: Zendaya would be invited to play a role in the sequel.
Additionally, Smith also mentioned another one of his planned sequels — "I Am Legend 2." It was announced three years ago that Smith would co-star with Michael B. Jordan. Smith reported that he and Jordan are still actively brainstorming ideas, and he praised Jordan's understanding of the story's scope, noting it was something unique among the production team.
