In a major announcement, Rockstar Games has revealed that "Grand Theft Auto V" on PC will receive a free update on March 4, 2025. This update will bring a host of next-gen console-exclusive enhancements, including improved graphics, new features, and the GTA+ subscription service. The update aims to deliver a smoother, more immersive gameplay experience, allowing the "Grand Theft Auto V" player base to enjoy the latest technological advancements.
The technical upgrades in this update include ray tracing features such as ambient occlusion and global illumination, which will be perfectly rendered on PC. Additionally, the update will support AMD FSR 1, FSR 3, and NVIDIA DLSS 3 technologies, significantly enhancing the game's visual quality and performance. Players will also benefit from faster loading times, as the update leverages SSD and DirectStorage technologies for a more efficient gaming experience.
Rockstar stated that the update will also improve support for higher resolutions, aspect ratios, and frame rates, enabling players to enjoy the game in superior display environments. It will also introduce DualSense controller support, offering a more realistic control experience with adaptive triggers. Furthermore, audio enhancements will include Dolby Atmos support, allowing players to experience richer soundscapes within the game.
Beyond the technical upgrades, PC players will also gain access to a range of new "GTA Online" features. These include new vehicles and upgrade options from Hao's Special Works (HSW), the Career Builder feature, and a redesigned landing page.
