Three years ago, French independent game studio Sloclap announced a live-action film adaptation of its acclaimed beat 'em up action-adventure game, "Sifu." The project initially tapped Derek Kolstad, screenwriter for the first three "John Wick" films, to pen the script, with media company Story Kitchen also on board to produce. Now, after three years, the "Sifu" live-action movie has finally found a distributor, though its creative team has seen some significant changes.

Deadline exclusively reported today that T.S. Nowlin, known for writing "The Maze Runner" trilogy, has taken over screenwriting duties. Chad Stahelski, the director behind all four main "John Wick" installments, is confirmed to join as a producer. His production company, 87Eleven Entertainment, will also be involved, collaborating with Story Kitchen to bring the film to life. Netflix has officially secured the distribution rights for the project.
