Hong Kong toy manufacturer threezero's "MDLX" series, which produces small-scale mecha articulated figures, has unveiled a new Transformers-themed product – the "Optimus Prime (Sleep Mode)" articulated figure. The suggested retail price is yet to be announced, with an estimated release in Q2 2025!

In the 1986 animated film "The Transformers: The Movie," after Megatron and his forces arrived on Earth, they engaged in a fierce battle with the Autobot garrison stationed in Autobot City. Although Optimus Prime appeared with reinforcements like the Dinobots hours later, he was still unable to reverse the tide. Optimus Prime suffered fatal injuries in his duel with Megatron, and after transferring command and the Matrix of Leadership, Optimus Prime gradually turned gray. The great Autobot leader thus fell, and the sudden turn of events shocked many young fans upon the film's release.

This MDLX "Optimus Prime (Sleep Mode)" articulated figure stands approximately 18 cm tall and features 48 points of articulation throughout its body. Based on the Optimus Prime figure released in 2021, which was redesigned by threezero Art Director Kelvin Sau, it has been repainted to reflect Optimus Prime's gray appearance after falling into eternal slumber in the movie. Crack details have been painted on the faceplate, chest windows, and limbs, while only the Matrix of Leadership inside the chest retains its original color scheme. The figure's opening chest allows for recreating the scene where the Matrix of Leadership is handed over to Ultra Magnus!
