Bandai's GASHAPON division in Japan will release a new product based on the classic popular anime "Kinnikuman" under its popular "Machibouke" (Waiting) series—the "Anxiously Waiting Kinnikuman" Gashapon. The suggested retail price is 400 JPY per capsule, and it is scheduled for release in late June 2025!
"Kinnikuman" is a manga series by Japanese manga artist Yudetamago, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1979 to 1987. In 1983, Toei and NTV adapted it into a TV anime. In 2024, Production I.G released a new anime series adaptation, "Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc," which tells the story of the Perfect Origin Supermen descending and challenging Kinnikuman and other Justice Supermen.
This "Anxiously Waiting Kinnikuman" series transforms several popular characters from the work into approximately 4 cm tall figures. It includes five types: Kinnikuman, Terryman, Robin Mask, Warsman, and Nemesis. The five Supermen are depicted in the "Machibouke" series' iconic sitting-with-knees-hugged pose. While maintaining an approximate two-head-tall proportion, the characters' design details are faithfully reproduced. The text on their faces and the metallic texture of their armor are meticulously recreated. Lined up, they look both powerful and adorable!
