TAMASHII NATIONS, the collector's toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Company, has announced the latest product in its 'ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.' series of robot-themed articulated figures: the "Hyaku-Shiki" from "Mobile Suit Z Gundam," slated for release in August 2025.
In the series, the MSN-00100 Hyaku-Shiki, piloted by Quattro Bajeena (Char), originated from the "Z Project" jointly developed by the Anti-Earth Union Group (AEUG) and Anaheim Electronics. Originally a transformable mobile suit with the development codename "δ Gundam," testing revealed that its movable frame could not withstand the stresses of the transformation system. Consequently, the transformation mechanism was canceled, and after a redesign, it still possessed outstanding performance for its era. While its full golden anti-beam coating was generally ineffective in its original setting, its aesthetic design is undeniably striking.
The "ROBOT SPIRITS Hyaku-Shiki ver. A.N.I.M.E." is based on anime design drafts, faithfully recreating its body proportions and the bluish-gold paint scheme seen in the animation. The entire body utilizes the articulation technology cultivated by ROBOT SPIRITS, featuring designs such as knee joint interlocking mechanisms and foot-to-hydraulic rod interlocking mechanisms, allowing for dynamic and natural, cool battle poses.
Through interchangeable parts, the head sensor can reproduce the red scanning line of the "IDE System," the green scanning line, and the red twin eyes added in the theatrical version. Armaments include a beam rifle, a bazooka with adhesive rounds, and beam sabers. By pulling out the base of the back binder, the internal weapon racks can be deployed to mount the rifle and bazooka.
