Following the "Cyclops" release, renowned poster design and toy company MONDO has once again unveiled a new product based on the classic X-Men animated series sequel, X-Men '97 – the "Wolverine" 1/6 Scale Collectible Figure (Timed Edition). Priced at US$245, pre-orders are scheduled to open at noon CT on February 25, 2025, on the MONDO Shop official website, with an estimated release in June 2025!
X-Men '97 continues the story from the popular animated series X-Men: The Animated Series, which aired from 1992 to 1997. It depicts Professor X's will, which names his long-time adversary Magneto as the new leader of the mutant academy after Professor X is declared dead. The X-Men must adapt to the leadership style of their former archenemy while confronting new, escalating threats.
This 1/6 scale Wolverine collectible figure appears to be an updated version based on the previously released X-Men: The Animated Series Wolverine. The sculpt faithfully recreates Wolverine's muscular physique and classic blue and yellow costume. The shoulders and gloves feature a more saturated and deeper blue, and the black outlines are finer, aligning more closely with the '97 animation's line art style!
Accessories include five interchangeable head sculpts, two sets of interchangeable hands, claws, a photo of Scott and Jean, and other accessories from previous versions. New additions include a Sentinel robot head sculpt and parts covered in claw marks from the battle with the Sentinels in the first episode of the animation, a battle-damaged upper body costume replacement part, and claw effect parts that absorb Gambit's energy. These can be paired with the previously released "Gambit" to recreate their classic combined attack!
