BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.'s collector's toy division, TAMASHII NATIONS, has announced the latest product from its alloy model series 'HI-METAL R': the 'Xabungle (SUNRISE SPIRITS)' from the anime 'Combat Armor Xabungle', slated for release in May 2025. This product will be exclusively sold at official physical stores, TAMASHII NATIONS STORE and TAMASHII SPOT.
Xabungle is a colossal robot capable of transforming and combining its upper and lower mechanical halves. It boasts excellent flexibility and mobility, akin to the human body, and its performance surpasses other types of walking machines. In addition to executing various martial arts techniques, it is equipped with a rich array of armaments, including a 90mm rifle, triple external rocket launcher, nine-tube rocket pod, and a quad-barrel handheld cannon. However, due to its complex transformation mechanism and internal structure, it is quite prone to malfunctions.
This re-release of the 'HI-METAL R Xabungle', part of the 'SUNRISE SPIRITS' project, is a modified version of the 40th-anniversary edition released in 2022. It features reduced accessories and a lower price point for its re-sale.
The main body is produced at a 1/100 scale, standing 17 cm tall. Similar to the 40th-anniversary edition, approximately 70% of its parts, including the head, are newly sculpted to bring its design closer to the vision of mechanical designer Kunio Okawara. Joints and other select parts are crafted from alloy materials, ensuring both strength and articulation.
Through its transformation mechanism, it can replicate the SKIPPER, ROVER, and trailer forms. It also includes interchangeable parts such as a backpack with broken wings and arm parts without wheels, allowing for the recreation of the incomplete, non-transforming specification piloted by the protagonist, Jiron. Accessories include a rifle and a Jiron mini-figure. Compared to the 40th-anniversary edition, armaments such as the triple rocket launcher, nine-tube missile pod, and quad-barrel cannon have been omitted.
