Netflix has officially announced that "Fear Street: Prom Queen," the fourth installment in the slasher series based on R.L. Stine's books (the same author behind "Goosebumps"), will premiere on May 23rd this year. A teaser trailer, featuring an introduction by Stine himself, was also released.
In the teaser's opening, Stine humorously acknowledged that while some might find his penchant for "slaughtering" young people in his fictional works concerning, it's precisely the audience's appetite for such tales that enables him to keep writing.

Set in 1988, "Prom Queen" plunges viewers into Shadyside High School's prom season, where the school's most popular girls are locked in their usual fierce competition for the coveted Prom Queen title. However, when an unexpected outsider is nominated and other candidates mysteriously vanish, the graduating class's highly anticipated prom night quickly descends into a horrific nightmare.
New cast members joining the installment include Ella Rubin, Lili Taylor, Katherine Waterston, and Ariana Greenblatt.
