Japanese gashapon toy manufacturer TOYS CABIN will once again release a product based on the electronic instrument invented by Maywa Denki – the "Otamatone 2" gashapon. The suggested retail price is 500 JPY, and it is scheduled for release in June 2025!

Maywa Denki, an innovative design performance group under Japan's Yoshimoto Kogyo, excels at performing various entertaining acts using self-made instruments. The instruments used in their performances are all developed by the group's "President," Nobumichi Tosa, who collaborates with toy manufacturers to mass-produce and sell these self-made instruments, leveraging performance opportunities to market them. Among all the products developed, the most famous and best-selling is undoubtedly the electronic musical toy called "Otamatone." Its cute, note-like shape, paired with its dot eyes and enchanting sound, captivates many at first sight. To date, it has been released in various sizes, colors, and even multiple collaborative designs!
▼Nobumichi Tosa personally demonstrates playing the Otamatone and another self-made percussion instrument, "Knocky"!
Following the previous first series which featured five styles in colors like black and white, including songs such as the "Wedding March," TOYS CABIN is once again producing five colored Otamatones as gashapon items, measuring 14 cm, approximately half the size of the actual instrument. While they cannot be played, they can play pre-recorded songs via a button. These include: "Strawberry - Vivaldi's Four Seasons Violin Concerto 'Spring' First Movement," "Mint Green - Greensleeves," "Chocolate - The Mountain Musician," "Lavender - Für Elise," and "Mango - When the Saints Go Marching In." All are very classic pieces, and hearing them performed with the Otamatone's unique sound is sure to be both hilarious and amazing!
