Japanese model manufacturer CCP's '1/6 Tokusatsu Series' of Japanese tokusatsu-themed soft vinyl figures has announced the latest product from 'Return of Ultraman', the "Space Dinosaur Zetton (Second Generation) HIGH GRADE Ver.", slated for release in July 2025.
Appearing in the final episode of 'Return of Ultraman', the Space Dinosaur Zetton (Second Generation) is a new generation invasion weapon controlled by Alien Bat to eliminate Ultraman. Compared to the original Zetton, its design is somewhat bulky and plump, and its head antennae are notably soft and flexible. In terms of lore, its firepower is indeed stronger than the original. However, Ultraman Jack possessed the even more formidable all-purpose weapon, the "Ultra Bracelet", and with the cover fire from the MAT team, he successfully defeated both Alien Bat and Zetton in a two-on-one situation.
The "1/6 Tokusatsu Series Space Dinosaur Zetton (Second Generation) HIGH GRADE Ver." is a reissue of the original product released in 2011. It faithfully recreates the bulkier physique compared to the first generation, the asymmetrical facial sculpt, the numerous tiny peepholes in the center of the face, and details such as wrinkles and wear marks from the suit. The notably soft and flexible head antennae from the show are depicted with irregular bent shapes, and the two glowing parts on the abdomen, transplanted from the original Zetton suit, also reproduce their skewed and asymmetrical appearance.
This reissue primarily features a refreshed color application. The glowing parts on the head and chest are rendered with transparent parts sprayed with highlight colors, while the body exhibits a sandy gray tone and dirt, as if covered in a layer of dust. Furthermore, all body details have undergone 'sumi-ire' (panel lining/ink wash) treatment, enhancing the three-dimensionality of the sculpt.
