In a memo sent to employees on Wednesday, Paramount Global co-CEOs George Cheeks, Chris McCarthy, and Brian Robbins announced that the company would revise its internal policies. This move comes in response to former President Donald J. Trump's push to dismantle various Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) social policies, with Paramount aiming to align with these new guidelines.

Paramount has confirmed the cancellation of several policies. These include discontinuing the establishment or use of data targets related to employees' race, ethnicity, sex, or gender identity. Additionally, the company will cease collecting race, ethnicity, sex, or gender identity data from U.S. job applicants on any forms or resumes, though this practice will continue in countries where legally mandated. Paramount stressed that despite these specific program cancellations, it remains committed to continuously evaluating and ensuring the recruitment of talent from diverse backgrounds and with varied perspectives.
Paramount is not the only entertainment and media enterprise adjusting its DEI policies. Both Amazon and Disney have recently followed suit, with Disney having already begun making adjustments to stem financial losses even prior to Trump's election.
