To commemorate Pokémon Day on February 27, 2025, the official Japanese Pokémon company announced the release of three soft vinyl figure commemorative products: "Venusaur," "Charizard," and "Blastoise," which are officially available starting today at the official merchandise store, 'Pokémon Center'.
In 2016, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Pokémon series, the official company designated February 27, the release date of the series' first titles, Pokémon Red and Green, as "Pokémon Day." Every year since, new Pokémon-related information and events are announced on this day. This year, in addition to the highly anticipated online presentation 'Pokémon Presents' airing at 10 PM Taiwan time, they have also chosen the highly significant original Kanto starter Pokémon for soft vinyl figure merchandise.
The three soft vinyl figures, "Venusaur," "Charizard," and "Blastoise," are based on the cover art from the first generation Red, Green, and Blue versions, featuring body proportions and poses faithful to their original designs. Each soft vinyl figure is quite substantial in size, and both the neck and limbs are equipped with horizontally rotatable joints, allowing for slight variations in posing.
