Last month, reports emerged that master of suspense M. Night Shyamalan's next film would be a supernatural romance thriller, a collaboration with Nicholas Sparks (pictured below), the acclaimed author of the romance classic "The Notebook." Jake Gyllenhaal was already tapped to star. Today, renowned entertainment journalist Daniel Richtman provided further updates on his Patreon page.

Richtman revealed the film's title as "Remain," describing it as an epic romantic drama. He did not mention the supernatural thriller elements previously reported by other outlets. Additionally, Alicia Vikander is reportedly in talks to play the female lead. If negotiations are successful, this would mark the first on-screen pairing for Vikander and Gyllenhaal.
Last month, Deadline reported that Shyamalan and Sparks are actually developing separate projects based on the same original concept and characters. Shyamalan is penning the screenplay, while Sparks is writing a novel, with both working independently. Plot details remain under wraps.
