American toy manufacturer NECA recently announced its latest product, "The Game of Jaws 50th Anniversary Edition," based on the 1975 American thriller film "Jaws"! Expected to ship in Q3 2025, with a suggested retail price of US$59.99.
Let's go back to 1975, when Ideal Toy Company released a namesake toy, "The Game of Jaws," based on the critically acclaimed and commercially successful film "Jaws." This board game, starring the man-eating great white shark "Bruce," involves placing a total of 13 pieces into Bruce's mouth and then using a gaff hook to retrieve them one by one. The first player to collect a certain number of items wins; however, you must be careful when removing the items, as Bruce's gaping maw could snap shut at any moment, taking you out of the game!

This "The Game of Jaws 50th Anniversary Edition" from NECA maintains the same basic gameplay as the original toy, where players use a gaff hook to retrieve items one by one from Bruce's mouth, and even his belly. However, NECA has utilized modern manufacturing techniques to apply detailed paintwork and sculpting to the great white shark Bruce and the 15 accessories, crafting them according to the film's specifications, significantly enhancing the overall realism! The entire shark measures an impressive 15 inches (approximately 38 cm) in length, and the items you need to hook out include an anchor, bones, a tire, a lamp, boots, and more. This certainly feels like a toy that will easily spark fun and competitive spirit at any party!
