The 'SYNERGENEX' series, a line of external collaboration toys launched by Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY's high-end toy brand T-SPARK, has announced that the latest collaborative product between 'ZOIDS' and the popular video game 'Monster Hunter', 'Rajang × Knuckle Kong (Provisional Name)', will be officially unveiled on March 6, 2025.
The latest installment in the series, 'Monster Hunter Wilds', officially launched on February 28, and it's safe to say that both new and veteran hunters have spent a fulfilling weekend exploring its new, ecologically integrated wilderness. While most of the large monsters in the game are new faces making their debut in 'Wilds', the official announcement recently teased the return of an old friend, 'Mizutsune', as part of the first free additional content. Coincidentally, 'Mizutsune × Gatling Fox' is also another product in this collaboration. If this isn't a coincidence, could we also expect 'Rajang' to make a return? After all, there's a "Scarlet Ape Beast" with extremely similar movements.
Similar to previously released 'Monster Hunter' collaboration products such as 'Magnamalo × Liger Zero' and 'Rathalos × Sonic Bird', Rajang this time also utilizes the visually similar ZOIDS 'ZW10 Knuckle Kong' as its base. It is crafted by incorporating Rajang's imagery and color scheme, not only capturing its jet-black fur but also using new head parts to faithfully recreate the pair of golden horns atop its head.
