Three years ago, Taylor Swift inked a deal with Searchlight Pictures to develop her feature directorial debut, a film she also penned. While that project has yet to materialize, it appears Swift is already laying new groundwork for her expansion into the film industry. Esteemed entertainment journalist Daniel Richtman recently revealed on his Patreon page that Swift, who has made a few sporadic acting appearances over the years, is now actively seeking out new acting roles.

Richtman's report indicates that Swift is carefully selecting suitable scripts and is currently in talks with multiple film studios for major sci-fi films, superhero roles, and limited streaming series. This suggests a serious commitment to her acting career, moving beyond the cameo or novelty appearances she made in films like "Valentine's Day," "The Giver," the movie musical "Cats," and most recently, "Amsterdam."

Regarding superhero roles, persistent rumors previously suggested that Swift had been in discussions with Marvel Studios for the role of the mutant Dazzler, who is also a singer, with an anticipated appearance in her friend Ryan Reynolds' upcoming film, "Deadpool & Wolverine." While those rumors ultimately didn't materialize, Swift may still have other opportunities to portray a superhero on the big screen.
