Produced by Japan's PLEX company and distributed by X-PLUS company, the monster soft vinyl figure series "Toho Large Monsters", which features monsters from Toho films, has announced the latest product from the movie Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, the "FAVORITE SCULPTORS LINE Mothra (2001) & Baragon (2001) Fierce Battle Color Ver.", scheduled for release in May 2025.
Mothra & Baragon, who appeared in the movie Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack, are not merely ordinary monsters. They are "Guardian Sacred Beasts" that were sealed in sacred lands and worshipped as deities by ancient Japanese dynasties after being subdued. Mothra's Kanji is written as "最珠羅" (Sairora), and Baragon's as "婆羅護吽" (Baragon). These sacred beasts protect nature and mountains, showing no mercy to humans who destroy the environment and life. When the embodiment of grudges, "Godzilla," entered Japan, the Guardian Sacred Beasts awakened one after another to protect the homeland.
This product is a modified version based on the regular edition released in 2018, and once again features the collaboration of sculptor Shunsuke Niwa (MONSTER MAKER 28). The product includes soft vinyl figures of Mothra (2001) with a wingspan of approximately 35 cm, and Baragon (2001) with a total length of approximately 28 cm.
Mothra (2001) is inspired by the final battle in the fiery Yokohama, recreating her magnificent full-body patterns and unique purple compound eyes, while a predominantly reddish paint scheme expresses the reflection of firelight. Baragon (2001) is inspired by the scene of his confrontation with Godzilla in Owakudani, with a weathered paint application across his entire body to depict his overwhelming suppression by Godzilla and being covered in sand and dirt.
