Bandai's GASHAPON brand, known for its premium "Creature Encyclopedia Ultimate" series of capsule toys, is pleased to announce its latest turtle-themed product: the "Turtle 02 Magnetic Stone Display Stand Set" (tentative translation) gashapon. This collection features four different types, with a suggested retail price of 1,800 JPY per capsule (the regular gashapon version is 1,500 JPY), and is scheduled for release in late June 2025.
The "Creature Encyclopedia Ultimate (Ikimono Dai Zukan Advance)" series boasts top-tier size, sculpting, and articulation, offering even more realistic details and exquisite paintwork compared to the "Creature Encyclopedia" series. For this "Creature Encyclopedia Ultimate Turtle 02 Magnetic Stone Display Stand Set," Mr. Masahiro Sato of KAME HOUSE served as the sculptor, meticulously recreating the juvenile turtle's form and biological structure. Mr. Hiroaki Tanaka was responsible for the painting, applying an overwhelming array of lifelike colors! The collection includes four types: Japanese Pond Turtle (Yellow), Japanese Pond Turtle (Orange), Red-eared Slider (Brazilian Turtle), and Grand Pseudemys (Yamato Donut Turtle).
Measuring 100 ~ 130 mm in length (carapace length approximately 60mm), these figures feature 16 ~ 20 points of articulation. Some parts utilize soft materials, and new structures have been incorporated to fully achieve the appearance of the head and limbs retracting into the shell. The newly added neck joint also allows for posing the turtle with its neck extended as if eating! The distinctive carapace realistically reproduces complex textures and colors. Furthermore, a magnet is embedded in the abdomen, allowing it to attach to the included stone-shaped display stand, recreating the sight of a turtle climbing onto a rock and showcasing its adorable poses with extended limbs. This allows for a wider range of dynamic scenarios when taking photos outdoors or in a terrarium.
