Japan's PLEX Co., Ltd. (株式会社プレックス), under its monster soft vinyl series "GODZILLA VINYL ART," will release the latest "Ukiyo-e Series" product: "GVA-BC Godzilla 1995 Frog Tree Ukiyo-e (Jade)"! With a suggested retail price of 40,000 JPY, it is scheduled for release in June 2025. (The companion piece, "GVA-BC Godzilla 1995 Frog Tree Ukiyo-e (Black)" from the same series, will be released simultaneously.)
The soft vinyl works by the Japanese three-person design team Frog Tree (フロッグツリー) are renowned for their intricate and complex sculpting and artistic-grade painted soft vinyl finishes. This latest work, the "GVA-BC Godzilla 1995 Frog Tree Ukiyo-e (Jade)" monster soft vinyl, celebrates the 30th anniversary in 2025 by taking Burning Godzilla from "Godzilla vs. Destoroyah" as its base and infusing it with an Ukiyo-e style!
Standing approximately 33 cm tall, the entire piece appears to have stepped directly out of a painting scroll. The unique and exquisite colors of the soft vinyl create a rich Japanese aesthetic, featuring a vibrant and textured emerald green. Godzilla's rough, bitter melon-like skin, with its finely sculpted textures, looks surprisingly crisp and delicious (?). This contrasts sharply with its fiery red eyes and mouth, further emphasizing its piercing gaze! White and green auspicious clouds swirl around its body, conveying a fresh sense of fluidity. Applied with gradient transparent material, the dorsal fins emit a crisp and translucent yellow-green glow, creating a truly distinct and special style!
