To commemorate the various records set by the global superstar Ohtani in MLB, Japan Post has previously released a rich array of collectible items, including limited-edition commemorative stamps and postcard sets. Today (the 1st), they once again announced the latest product from Japan's ENSKY: the "Real Perfect Shohei Ohtani Vol.2" 1/6 scale figure. With a reference price of 41,800 JPY, it will be available for limited-time pre-order from April 4 to May 15, 2025, with an estimated shipping date of October 2025.
Professional baseball player Shohei Ohtani, hailing from Iwate Prefecture, Japan, plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball. He is a rare "two-way" player in modern baseball, excelling as both a pitcher and a hitter. As a pitcher, Ohtani can throw an astonishing 165 km/h fastball and an incredible array of breaking balls that have shaken the baseball world. As a hitter, Ohtani also delivers extraordinary performances with exceptional power-hitting ability. In the 2024 season, he broke the unprecedented MLB record of achieving 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases (the 50-50 club) in a single season, becoming the most iconic superstar in baseball today.
The "Real Perfect Shohei Ohtani Vol.2" 1/6 scale figure immortalizes the commemorative moment when Ohtani hit his first home run for the Dodgers during a game against the Giants! With the goal of conveying "the beauty of detailed expression," this approximately 35 cm tall figure meticulously captures realistic details—based on photos and videos from the game, the natural wrinkles of the uniform as Ohtani swings have been thoroughly analyzed, and the textures of the cleats, protective gear, and batting gloves are faithfully reproduced. Colors and team logos are recreated using 3D data, and the helmet is crafted based on official materials. Ohtani's facial expression, skin, the curves of his body, the balance of his movement, his arms, and legs... all details are fully presented!
The base also features the commemorative date of his first home run with the Dodgers, April 3, 2024, adding significant collectible value!
