While promoting her new film "Die Alone," she recently spoke with the British newspaper The Independent, admitting that she deliberately slowed down after "The Matrix." Moss recalled taking a long break after the film's success to start a family, remembering the internal struggle she faced. She described the painful thought of receiving "great offers for great projects" at the time.

Moss continued, explaining that holding her child made her question what truly mattered. She pondered whether adding another film to her resume would be more important at the end of her life than holding her baby. She realized then that there was no hesitation, expressing her happiness with the decision and her lack of regret. While acknowledging that the choice didn't help her career, she affirmed it was the best decision she ever made.
Years later, Moss was invited back for "The Matrix Resurrections," a film that ultimately faced both box office and critical disappointment. However, Moss remained philosophical about the outcome, stating that she didn't take the film's struggles to heart. She noted the "absurd" period when the movie was released simultaneously in theaters and on streaming platforms. Moss added that she doesn't spend much time thinking about what people think, often repeating the adage that one can only control their own experience. Part of the reason Moss didn't achieve greater stardom might also stem from her steadfast refusal to take on other roles similar to Trinity. Moss previously stated that she wanted that iconic screen image to belong solely to "The Matrix" franchise. She explained that she chose not to portray similar characters because she didn't want to transfer the precious work and beautiful artistic creation of Lana and Lilly Wachowski to other filmmakers.
