The live-action series adaptation of Sony Interactive Entertainment's "God of War" video game, which has been in development since 2022, has undergone a change in its core creative team. Ronald D. Moore, known as the showrunner for "Battlestar Galactica" and co-writer/producer for "Star Trek: The Next Generation," took over the project. According to Moore's recent development update, the "God of War" series appears to finally be on track and moving steadily forward.

Moore recently appeared as a guest on "The Sackhoff Show," a podcast hosted by his former "Battlestar Galactica" colleague Katee Sackhoff, who played Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace in the series. During the interview, Moore revealed that the "God of War" series had already received a two-season order. He stated, "I'm currently adapting a game called 'God of War.' Amazon has ordered two seasons. They invited me to join, and I'm now officially part of the writing team. This is my new job."

Moore (pictured above) confessed that he isn't a dedicated "God of War" game fan, noting that the last time he seriously played video games was in the 1980s. Moore admitted that while he attempted to play "God of War," Kratos's storyline and the fast-paced action controls proved difficult for him to grasp, and he also struggled with modern game controllers. He humorously described the experience: "These controllers now, though (laughs)... They tell me to press R1, but which one is R1? Then I die! I really can't get the hang of it." Moore self-deprecatingly concluded, "I'm not a gamer."
