American toy brand McFarlane Toys, under its "MLB PLAYERS" series, will release a commemorative product for the globally popular baseball superstar—"Los Angeles Dodgers Shohei Ohtani" 1/6 Scale Limited Edition Resin Statue! The suggested retail price is US$299.99, with an estimated shipping date of September 2025.
Professional baseball player Shohei Ohtani, hailing from Iwate Prefecture, Japan, plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball. He is a rare "two-way player" in modern baseball, excelling as both a pitcher and a hitter. As a pitcher, Ohtani can throw an astonishing 165 km/h fastball and a breathtaking array of breaking balls that have captivated the baseball world; as a hitter, Ohtani also demonstrates extraordinary performance with exceptional power-hitting ability. In the 2024 season, he broke the unprecedented MLB record of achieving 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases (the 50-50 Club) in a single season, becoming the most iconic superstar in baseball today.
The McFarlane "Los Angeles Dodgers Shohei Ohtani" 1/6 Scale Limited Edition Resin Statue aims to recreate the iconic moment when Shohei Ohtani achieved his 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases record! Crafted at a substantial size of 12.5 inches, it realistically depicts Ohtani in his Los Angeles Dodgers uniform. While the facial likeness might be somewhat ambiguous, the iconic number 17 jersey, his tall and muscular physique, and his focused stance, ready to bat, are incredibly cool. The shoes and pant legs feature dirt-stained paintwork, and the base proudly displays a 50-50 Club plaque, adding significant collectible value!
