BANDAI SPIRITS Hobby Division in Japan is set to release its latest product from "SD Gundam World Heroes", the "SDW HEROES GF Gundam Astraea Type-B", on March 22, 2025. Ahead of its release, official new information including the product box art design and actual model sample images have been unveiled.
Designed by mechanical designer Toshihisa Miyauchi, the "GF Gundam Astraea Type-B" is based on the Gundam Astraea Type-B from the "Mobile Suit Gundam 00" series. It is a hero belonging to the "SUPER G-ARMS" unit, fighting alongside its leader, Quantum Type GF, and GF Gundam Astraea Type-F. Their background pays homage to the organization of the same name from the 1990s "SD Commander Chronicle" trilogy, earning them the title of the Reiwa version of "SUPER G-ARMS".
The "SDW HEROES GF Gundam Astraea Type-B" meticulously recreates high-density mechanical details with precise molding for each part, including the striking "SUPER G-ARMS" unit emblem on its forehead. It also utilizes multiple green clear parts to represent its armaments, such as the beam saber and shield, which are based on the "Proto GN Sword" and "GN Shield". Furthermore, its back is equipped with a pair of massive weapons resembling feet, whose design originates from the two large GN Cannons mounted on the upper section of the "GN Arms".
Moreover, this unit harbors a secret transformation and combination mechanism that links with its leader, Quantum Type GF, and GF Gundam Astraea Type-F. The three units can be reassembled, combining their main bodies and parts, to form the "General Fortress" mode, which stands approximately 20 cm tall – a size even larger than the "MG 1/100 Gundam 3.0". The naming convention and inspiration for this form are also derived from "General Gundam" and "Fortress Emperor" featured in "SD Commander Chronicle".
