Released by the HOBBY Division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., the "Figure-rise Standard Amplified" series, which amplifies character tension through model kit specifications, today at the annual "DIGIMON CON2025" Digimon event, unveiled for the first time the previously announced new product, the development prototype of "KaiserGreymon". The product is scheduled for release in September 2025.
First appearing in the anime "Digimon Frontier," KaiserGreymon is a Transcendent-species Digimon possessing the power of flame. It is the ultimate evolution of the protagonist, Takuya Kanbara, utilizing the Spirits of Flame, Wind, Ice, Earth, and Wood. Its power surpasses that of the legendary Ten Legendary Warriors who previously wielded the Spirits. Within its body reside the powers of the nine Dragon Veins flowing through the earth; if these nine dragon powers can be mastered, unfathomable strength can be unleashed. To control this power, he wields the "Dragon Soul Sword," a weapon sealing dragon souls, capable of unleashing powerful special moves such as "Flame Dragon Attack" and "Nine-Headed Dragon Array."
The development prototype of the "Figure-rise Standard Amplified KaiserGreymon" unveiled at this offline event showcases a cool design reinterpreted by illustrator As'Maria based on the original settings. Many parts of its body incorporate "dragon" imagery to express the power of the Dragon Veins residing within, with mechanical layers, panel lines, and joint designs intricately carved into the red and gold armor covering its entire body. Furthermore, its main weapon, the "Dragon Soul Sword," features an original model kit mechanism, allowing the left and right blade parts to extend and the hilt to retract.
In addition, a silhouette of the highly anticipated "Susanoomon" was also revealed in advance. In the future, Bandai may release "Susanoomon" as a standalone product, or follow up with the Transcendent-species Digimon "MagnaGarurumon," which possesses the power of light, and recreate Susanoomon through a combining mechanism.
