The robot-themed action figure series 'ROBOT SPIRITS ver. A.N.I.M.E.', released by TAMASHII NATIONS, the collectible toy division of Japan's BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd., has announced the latest product from "Mobile Suit Gundam MSV", the "Zaku Cannon ver. A.N.I.M.E. ~MS MUSEUM~", scheduled for release in September 2025.
During the One Year War, when the Principality of Zeon forces executed their Earth Drop Operation, they modified the "Zaku II Type J" to acquire highly mobile anti-aircraft capabilities. However, development was hindered by weight balance issues with the anti-aircraft artillery. The plan was then shifted to a ground combat medium-range specification equipped with a 180mm cannon, thus giving birth to the "MS-06K Zaku Cannon". This mobile suit was an additional setting introduced in the MSV project after the broadcast of "Mobile Suit Gundam", and it officially appeared in animation only in the sequel, "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam".
The brand-new sub-series '~MS MUSEUM~' aims to enhance the realism of previously released Mobile Suits and includes a dedicated display stand with a nameplate, allowing you to realize your dream of opening a Mobile Suit museum in your room.
The first product in this series, the "Zaku Cannon", features a newly designed set of realistic body markings that evoke the mobile suit's performance, based on the original toy box art and mobile suit design sketches. These markings are reproduced on various parts of the model using transfer printing. Coupled with the nameplate, which displays the mobile suit's designation and name, and the display stand, it perfectly captures the ambiance of a mobile suit standing proudly in a museum.
The mobile suit's appearance and articulation design are identical to the previously released standard version. It comes with a wealth of accessories, including a "Rabbit Type" interchangeable head with twin antennas, the Zaku Machine Gun MMP50B, "BIG GUN" twin rocket pods on both sides of the waist, smoke dischargers, and a back-mounted cannon. These can be combined with the flexible articulated joint design to pose it in various combat stances.
