"TOMICA," the die-cast miniature car series launched by Japanese toy company TAKARA TOMY, is releasing its latest series, "TOMICA TUNES." The first installment features Sanrio Characters themed products: "TOMICA TUNES SANRIO CHARACTERS Vol.1," with a total of seven items. The suggested retail price is 1,320 JPY each, and they are scheduled for release in Japan in May 2025.
"TOMICA TUNES" is a new series with the slogan "Tune up your Tomica!" Cute characters sit in authentic TOMICA die-cast cars, characterized by their downcast, crying expressions! The series is inspired by people who get lost while driving, yet persist despite difficulties – reminding collectors that "even if life presents difficulties that force us to take detours, as long as we keep moving forward, we will eventually find our way."
The seven characters in "TOMICA TUNES SANRIO CHARACTERS Vol.1" include Hello Kitty, Pompompurin, Pochacco, Cinnamoroll, My Melody, and Kuromi, plus one secret version (a special color variant of one of the six characters). Their crying expressions are both pitiful and adorable~ *The characters seated in the Tomica cannot be removed.
