Once a dominant force, the French gaming giant built its empire on acclaimed franchises like "Far Cry," "Assassin's Creed," and "Watch Dogs." However, with several recent releases underperforming critically, Ubisoft is now in urgent need of a major success to reverse its fortunes, and the upcoming "Assassin's Creed Shadows" is undoubtedly carrying that immense responsibility.
In fact, both "Star Wars Outlaws" and "Skull and Bones" have failed to meet market expectations, even incurring losses. Reports indicate that Ubisoft suffered millions of dollars in losses in 2024, leading to increasingly strained internal resource allocation.
