Japan's official Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, has announced that the latest event-exclusive product from "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam", the "HG 1/144 Psycho Gundam [Metallic Gloss Injection]", is scheduled to go on sale in stores starting April 19, 2025.
The MRX-009 Psycho Gundam, boasting an astonishing height of approximately 40 meters, is a mobile suit developed by the Earth Federation Forces' Newtype Lab "Muramasa" specifically for Cyber Newtypes. It can transform from a mobile armor form with hovering capabilities into a mobile suit form optimized for close-quarters combat. Equipped with a large psycommu system, its entire body is armed with numerous psycommu-controlled MEGA particle cannons and I-field generators, possessing the incredible destructive power to annihilate a city single-handedly. However, the young girl who piloted this machine, Four Murasame, was a "Cyber Newtype" created through inhumane methods such as drug modification and mental conditioning, leading to her tragic and short life.
The "HG 1/144 Psycho Gundam [Metallic Gloss Injection]" is based on the general release kit from 2004, modified with metallic gloss injection molding technology and colored clear parts to achieve a special texture. Other features remain the same as the general release, including a complete transformation mechanism to switch between MS and MA forms. The three MEGA particle cannons on the chest are individually molded parts, and the ten MEGA beam cannons at the fingertips can extend their barrels via a sliding mechanism.
