Japan's official Gunpla flagship store, GUNDAM BASE, announced that the event-exclusive product from "Mobile Suit Gundam", "HG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam [Earth Color]", is scheduled to go on sale in stores starting April 11, 2025.
The Earth Color RX-78-2 Gundam being released this time originates from the 1/12 scale Gundam statue displayed at various venues during the 2024 official touring exhibition "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE -ROAD TO 2025-", which commemorated the 45th anniversary of "Mobile Suit Gundam". Conceived with the hope of connecting with Gundam fans across Japan, its overall color scheme is designed using the land and ocean colors of Earth.
This "HG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam [Earth Color]" was also pre-sold during last year's "GUNDAM NEXT FUTURE -ROAD TO 2025-" event and will now be available at Gundam Base. The kit is a modification of the "HGUC 1/144 Gundam Revive" released in 2015, with the entire model utilizing new molding colors and body marking stickers to reproduce the Earth Color version's design.
Other designs remain the same as the original version, featuring a parts runner design that makes assembly more intuitive and easier, more flexible movable joint designs, and includes weapon accessories such as a beam rifle, beam saber, hyper bazooka, and shield.
