Last April, rumors circulated that Warner Bros. Discovery's classic cartoon, "Scooby-Doo," was set for another live-action adaptation in a new series. Nearly a year later, Netflix has finally announced it has officially ordered an eight-episode first season for the show. While Warner Bros. Television will continue to produce, Netflix will handle distribution.

The series will be helmed by Josh Appelbaum, co-writer of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" franchise, and Scott Rosenberg, co-writer of the "Jumanji" series, who will serve as writers and showrunners. The synopsis they developed for the series was also unveiled today.
