In 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery, as part of a company-wide tax write-off strategy, made the decision to permanently cancel the release plans for several unreleased films. Among them was the live-action/animated Looney Tunes movie "Coyote vs. Acme." While Warner Bros. later reversed course, agreeing to sell "Coyote vs. Acme" to other studios for distribution, reports suggested their asking price was initially too high, deterring some potential buyers. Fortunately, after further deliberation, Warner Bros. has finally found a suitable new home for the film.

Ketchup Entertainment recently announced in a statement that they have reached an agreement with Warner Bros. to acquire the distribution rights for "Coyote vs. Acme," with a theatrical release slated for next year. The deal is reportedly valued at $50 million. Ketchup previously handled the distribution of another Warner Bros. title, "The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie," which was also initially abandoned for in-house streaming and television due to the Warner Bros. and Discovery merger and restructuring.

"Coyote vs. Acme" was directed by Dave Green, known for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows." James Gunn, director of the "Guardians of the Galaxy" trilogy, co-wrote and produced the film. The cast features John Cena, Will Forte, and Lana Condor, among others. The story follows Wile E. Coyote as he furiously sues the Acme Corporation, alleging that their defective products have repeatedly thwarted his lifelong pursuit of the Road Runner.
