The world-renowned Hong Kong toy manufacturer Hot Toys, under its Movie Masterpiece series, will release a new Japan-exclusive product based on the film "Star Wars" – the "Darth Vader (Dueling Effect Version)" 1/6 scale collectible action figure. With a suggested retail price of 45,000 JPY and a global limited edition of 1,000 units, it will be pre-sold at "Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025," held from April 18-20, 2025, at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City. If not sold out at the event, it will be available for purchase on the Toy Sapiens official website!
First appearing in the 1977 film "Star Wars" (later retitled "Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope"), "Dark Lord" Darth Vader is undoubtedly one of the most iconic villains in film history. Even those unfamiliar with "Star Wars" will surely recognize his imposing space samurai appearance and his chilling breathing sound!
This Darth Vader (Dueling Effect Version) stands approximately 35 cm tall and features over 30 points of articulation throughout its body. It meticulously recreates the details of his space suit, including the robe, shoulder armor, and chain-adorned cape, using a combination of fabric, plastic, and other materials! The most distinctive feature of this version is the flat-style paint application on both sides of the figure's body and the base's logo, depicting red and blue light reflecting onto the space suit. This symbolizes the conflict and balance between the light and dark sides of the Force. Under proper lighting, it even creates the illusion of a 2D effect, giving the entire piece a unique aesthetic!
The chest respirator and the iconic red lightsaber both feature LED light-up functions, radiating a powerful presence even in the dark. Furthermore, the lightsaber includes a motion blur effect part, allowing for the dynamic recreation of powerful swinging movements!
