After more than a decade in development, Paramount Pictures has finally unveiled the first teaser trailer for its "The Naked Gun" soft reboot at CinemaCon. Action superstar Liam Neeson is set to take the lead, stepping into the shoes of the late Leslie Nielsen as the son of his iconic character. The footage reveals that the film faithfully inherits the zany, fourth-wall-breaking comedic style of the original trilogy.
Notably, Paramount released two different versions of the trailer simultaneously: a domestic US version and an international cut. The second half of each trailer features entirely different content.

The new installment is directed by Akiva Schaffer, known for his work on "Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers." The screenplay was penned by "Rescue Rangers" writing duo Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. Seth MacFarlane, who previously worked with Neeson on "Ted 2" and "A Million Ways to Die in the West," serves as a producer.
The cast also includes Kevin Durand, Danny Huston, Paul Walter Hauser, Pamela Anderson, and rapper Busta Rhymes. The film is scheduled to hit theaters in North America on August 1.
