The untitled new "Star Wars" spin-off film, directed by "Deadpool & Wolverine" helmer Shawn Levy (pictured below) and starring Ryan Gosling, just yesterday saw reports of Jodie Comer in talks to join the cast. Today, new information suggests that Cannes Best Actor winner Jesse Plemons has also been invited to take on the role of the main villain.
Renowned film and television journalist Daniel Richtman broke the news this morning on his Patreon page. He also reported yesterday that Plemons was invited to join "The Hunger Games" prequel "Sunrise on the Reaping", making him a sought-after talent for two major franchise spin-offs.

The script for this untitled project is being penned by Jonathan Tropper, who previously collaborated with Levy on "This Is Where I Leave You" and "The Adam Project." Official sources have confirmed the story is set after the events of "The Rise of Skywalker." According to current rumors, this will be a significantly smaller-scale production with a much lower budget than typical "Star Wars" films, with Gosling's character accompanied by a Jedi apprentice.
