Director Dan Trachtenberg, who successfully revitalized the "Predator" franchise three years ago with the critically acclaimed "Prey," is set to deliver two new projects he's returning to direct this year. The first, an animated film titled "Predator: Killer of Killers," which today unveiled its first teaser trailer and promotional poster (below), is slated to debut on Disney+ on June 6.

"Predator: Killer of Killers" is an anthology film featuring three short stories, depicting the Predator challenging warriors from various human eras and cultures, including samurai, ninjas, Viking pirates, and WWII airmen. The three distinct narratives follow: a Viking pirate on a revenge journey with her young son; a ninja rebelling and declaring war on his samurai brother amidst a brutal succession struggle; and a WWII pilot investigating an unknown supernatural threat encountered by Allied forces in the air.

Trachtenberg is simultaneously producing two "Predator" films. In an exclusive interview with Bloody Disgusting, he candidly admitted with a laugh that the workload was too immense and intense, stating, "This approach is stupid; I hope I don't do it again." He further explained that the three stories in "Killer of Killers" share a common theme: "Most of the characters are dealing with intergenerational relationships, trying to break the cyclical fate of their families. But the story genres of all chapters are completely different."

The film is produced by visual effects company The Third Floor, with Josh Wassung, who served as the visual effects creative director for "Prey," also among the directors. Trachtenberg's other "Predator" film slated for this year is the live-action feature "Badlands," starring Elle Fanning. Set in the near future, the film will be narrated from the Predator's subjective perspective, attempting to portray the Yautja as a sympathetic protagonist, and is set for a November 7 release in North America.
